What’s new for 2026?
Q.
Dear Taryn,
What do I need to know about the incoming 2026 Medicare changes?
Chance
A.
Dear Chance,
Two things to keep in mind:
- Updated Enrollment Forms: Starting January 1, 2026, CMS has revised the Model Individual Enrollment Request Form to remove voluntary data fields related to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity. This change aims to streamline the enrollment process and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Increased Plan Payments: Payments from the government to Medicare Advantage plans are expected to increase on average by 5.06% from 2025 to 2026. This increase is largely attributable to an increase in the effective growth rate, which represents the average expected change in the benchmarks used to determine payment for Medicare Advantage plans.

Q.
Dear Taryn,
How do I position myself against direct-to-consumer call centers and online enrollment platforms?
James
A.
Dear James,
Here’s my advice:
- Lean into the one thing call centers cannot provide. Personalized, local, continued service
- Highlight what makes YOU different!
- Build loyalty (and referrals) through amazing service.
- Compete with relationships, trust and ongoing support for your clients.

Q.
Dear Taryn,
Can I use AI or automation in marketing without crossing compliance lines?
Pele
A.
Dear Pele,
AI and automation are efficient tools, not decision-makers. Use them to save time, stay organized, and communicate more effectively — but always keep compliance and human oversight at the forefront.
Have a great AEP!
